About Dr. Tamara Bustard
Hi, I’m Dr. Tamara Bustard—I’m from New Brunswick and a graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, class of 2016.
My journey in veterinary medicine began long before I ever donned a white coat. I started out as a kennel technician, working hands-on with animals and learning the importance of compassionate, attentive care. Driven by a deep love for animals and a strong work ethic, I’ve always pushed myself to go above and beyond. I earned my bachelor’s degree before finishing high school and went on to complete a master’s in business before beginning veterinary school.
Those early experiences and academic milestones helped shape who I am today—a veterinarian deeply committed to both animal health and client care. Becoming a veterinarian and opening my own practice has been a lifelong dream, and being able to do it with my family by my side has made it all the more meaningful.

I treat every patient as if they were my own pet, and every client like family. My areas of special interest include surgery, behaviour, allergies, and preventative care—because I truly believe that prevention is one of the most powerful tools we have to ensure longer, healthier lives for our furry companions.
At the heart of everything I do are my three greatest loves: my family, the great outdoors, and helping animals and people. I spend as much time as I can with all three, and they each inspire the way I live and work every day.

About Brandon
Brandon is Oceanside Animal Hospital’s Licensed Veterinary Technician—and also the heart behind much of what makes our clinic feel like family. His love for animals, especially chihuahuas, began with his first little companion, Peanut, and has only grown since.
Brandon is passionate about providing exceptional care to every patient that walks through our doors. He’s especially excited about the new capabilities coming to the clinic, including performing ultrasounds and echocardiograms—advanced tools that will help us offer even more comprehensive care to our clients and their pets.
He also looks forward to creating festive, joyful memories for the pets and families who come through our doors—whether they’re visiting for boarding, daycare, or just dropping in to say hello. His goal is to make every visit to Oceanside feel special and memorable.
Outside of the hospital, Brandon is a creative spirit who enjoys photography and often captures the special moments that happen both in and out of the clinic. He also loves being outdoors—hiking, exploring, and making memories with our girls (aka our beloved dogs), who are always up for an adventure.
He’s proud to be part of the Oceanside team and excited to continue serving the community alongside his wife, Dr. Tamara Bustard, and the rest of our amazing staff.
